What is lumbermade?
lumbermade is an AI app for DIY furniture on iPhone. You point your camera at a spot and say what you want, and it designs a piece that fits the exact space and suits your room. You get a shopping list, a cut plan and picture-by-picture assembly instructions to build it yourself.
Is there an AI that designs furniture I can build myself?
Yes. lumbermade is an AI that designs DIY furniture for your exact space. It measures the spot with your iPhone, designs a piece from standard lumber and plywood, checks that it fits and won't sag, and gives you the cut plan and instructions to build it.
How is lumbermade different from a furniture planner or 3D design app?
Planner apps let you place existing furniture or draw your own. lumbermade designs a new piece for you from a spoken request, then turns it into real parts, a shopping list, a cut plan and assembly steps you can follow.
How does lumbermade measure my space?
It uses your iPhone's augmented reality camera. You tap the left and right ends of the spot, how far out the furniture can come, and how high it can go. You can also type the measurements in.
Can I buy the materials at a normal hardware store?
Yes. Every design uses standard plywood sheets, boards and hardware sold at stores like Home Depot and Lowe's. The shopping list shows exact sizes and quantities, and the cut plan is laid out on standard 4 by 8 foot sheets.
What if I don't own a saw?
Tell lumbermade which tools you have and the design adapts. If you have no saw, it keeps every cut straight so a store's cutting service can make them from your cut list. It also tells you when a tool is worth buying or borrowing.
Does it match my room?
Yes. lumbermade looks at a photo of your room to pick finishes and proportions that suit its colors and style. It also keeps walkways clear, avoids blocking doors and windows, and uses standard heights for desks, shelves and seating.
How much does lumbermade cost?
lumbermade is a weekly subscription through the App Store, with up to 15 new designs per week. You can cancel any time in your iPhone settings.
Is it safe to build tall furniture from the app?
Every design is checked for fit, stock sizes and shelf sag, and tall freestanding pieces always include wall anchoring hardware and instructions. Always check measurements before cutting and anchor tall furniture to the wall.
